Criminal History Background Checks

Alaska DPS handles statewide criminal history checks. Submit a self-request online at backgroundcheck.dps.alaska.gov. The fee is $20, paid online. Results come by email within one to two business days. This is governed by AS 12.62.

Valdez does not have a DPS walk-in office for criminal history requests. The nearest walk-in location is the Palmer DPS office at 453 S Valley Way, Palmer AK 99645, reachable at 907-745-2131.
