Find Police Records in Homer

Homer police records are held by the Homer Police Department for incidents inside city limits, and by Alaska State Troopers for areas outside. This guide explains how to request police reports through HPD and the City Clerk, search court cases through CourtView, and access statewide tools like the criminal history portal and sex offender registry. Homer is in the Kenai Peninsula Borough, so KPB records resources also apply here.

Homer Police Department

The Homer Police Department is located at 625 Grubstake Avenue, Homer AK 99603. The department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The non-emergency admin line is 907-235-3150. Fax is 907-235-3151. For non-urgent written questions, email police@cityofhomer-ak.gov. The department's main page is at cityofhomer-ak.gov/police.

Chief Mark H. Robl has led HPD since May 1, 1999, making him the longest-serving police chief currently in office in Alaska. The department has one lieutenant, two patrol sergeants, one investigation sergeant, eight patrol officers, seven dispatchers, and three corrections officers. That staff covers a jurisdiction of roughly 5,003 city residents, plus seasonal visitors and the commercial fishing harbor.

Homer also operates a Community Jail under a state contract. The facility can hold up to 10 individuals at a time and is used for short-term holds of no more than 10 days. This is a state-contract arrangement, not a county jail, so records related to that facility follow state corrections record rules.

How to Request Homer Police Records

For accident reports specifically, you can request them by phone at 907-235-3150, in person at the station, or by email at police@cityofhomer-ak.gov. Accident reports typically run $6 to $20 depending on the length and format of the record.

Homer-area cases fall under the Third Judicial District. Search results show charges, hearing dates, and dispositions.

Under AS 22.35.030, some cases involving acquittals and dismissals may be restricted or removed from public view. If a case doesn't come up in a search, it may be sealed or access may have been limited by court order. Try varying the name spelling or searching by case number if you believe a record should exist.
